Specializing in distinctive equine animal artistry, I am an artist who uses photography as my medium of expression. Born in England and raised back east in the heart of horse country, I found home in the mountains of Morrison Colorado with my partner Brad and our two Friesian Paint cross colts.
Always passionate about horses and also an avid artist, I was invited to intern and study fine art photography with a small group of students from around the world at the International Center for Photography in NYC, leaving my career in the sciences behind forever. Studies at ICP encouraged me to take my photography beyond visual documentation and objectification into the realm of the unseen yet felt, inviting and encouraging contemplation from my art’s audience. There is nothing more enjoyable than being able to watch somebody engage with the work.
RecentlyI surreptitiously stumbled upon some web sites on equine assisted therapy and horse rescue sanctuaries, including wild horse sanctuaries. These organizations have been invaluable to me and my work and it has become my mission to give back and support them. Please check out my “links”. It is through the generosity of everybody that these organizations can survive. The horse is one of the most pampered creatures on this planet along with one of the most abused.
My work is currently represented by the Wild Eye Gallery in Evergreen Co. I am a member of EPNET – Equestrian Photographers Network, Working With Artists, Society for Photographic Education, Colorado Photographic Arts, Boulder Digital Arts , and The Center For Fine Art Photography, all organizations that support the photographic arts.
