Connecting Heart to Heart
Founder of Conscious-Animal-Connections Meetup.
JULIE MACK, Ph.D., P.C.
Psychologist, Equine-Assisted Psychologist, & Animal Communicator
I help you find you. Connecting heart to heart with humans and animals; I support emotional, mind-body, and spiritual balance as we journey in life and expanding consciousness. In my office, your home, or the arena, I create safe, uplifting, and nurturing spaces.
My areas of therapeutic expertise include Personal Growth, Self-Improvement, Trauma/PTSD, EMDR, Emotional Balancing (Anxiety & Depression), and Spirituality. I specialize in collaborating with people and animals. I am an expert at helping people uncover, balance and integrate stuck emotions, patterns, aspects and energies and move into more well-being.
As valued members of our families, companion animals can both effect and be affected by the emotions of their guardians. I connect with them intuitively/emotionally, in-person or remotely. I help you clearly understand their feelings, opinions, preferences and perspectives. I also provide education, suggestions to improve communication, relationships, end of life decisions, behavioral, health, emotional, training, bonding, and/or inter-species mediation, counseling, and validation of your hunches. Readings may assist in selecting complimentary approaches, such as healing touch, massage, flower essences, nutritional suggestions, etc.
Animal Communication is a passion, pleasure and joy. In May of 2008, I was delighted to hone my own intuitive abilities to communicate with animals at an intensive animal communication workshop led by author and Animal Communicator, Marta Williams. Your animals know who you really are and love to help you know it too.
I was first introduced to animal communication in childhood through my great uncle and cousin sharing stories of their abilities to lovingly connect with and heal animals. I’ve worked in animal hospitals, have rescued and rehabilitated animals, studied healing touch, and volunteered with local rescue organizations.
In addition to my love for animals, my work as a human Psychologist since 1999 has fostered a deep compassion and understanding of people which enables me to relate equally well to the human companions of the animals with whom I communicate.
Co-facilitating psychotherapy, riding, and playing with horses are grounding, powerful, and uplifting experiences. By remembering how to access your inner resources and wisdom, you can discover your authentic self. I mentor clients beyond surviving to thriving.
In my Animal Communication and Equine-Assisted Psychology work, I express my passion to co-create with people and animals. I conduct Equine-Assisted Psychology sessions in cooperation with Tara Pagoda, at Fifth Element Ranch in Loveland, CO.
As a Clinical Psychologist, since 2000, I’ve developed expertise in the areas of Personal Growth, Self-Improvement, Trauma/PTSD, Emotional Balancing (Anxiety, Depression and Mood Disorders), Consciousness, and Spirituality. I completed my M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the APA accredited Alliant International University in Los Angeles, California, in 1997. Prior to that, in 1992, I completed a Masters Degree in Social Work at California State University, Long Beach. Since then, I have worked in the private and public health and mental health sectors at private psychotherapy offices, a yoga studio, a neurology and sleep clinic, a college counseling center, a V.A. Hospital, a state mental hospital, a county mental health center, a private medical office, Kaiser Permanente, and assisted living and nursing home facilities. In 1998, just prior to moving to Colorado, I completed a one year post-doctoral fellow-ship in Neuropsychology and Chronic Pain Management at UCLA.
My therapeutic approach is eclectic and my toolbox includes a blend of effective therapies. I help individuals change stuck beliefs, thoughts, behaviors, patterns, and physical symptoms, shift mood imbalances, improve sleep problems, relieve anxiety, trauma, grief & loss, smooth life transitions, navigate career issues, improve self-esteem, and explore and integrate life purpose and soul growth. I frequently use Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) in the office (Level II certified); a highly effective mind-body technique. I teach relaxation, coping, and stress management skills. I have collaborated successfully with adolescents, adults, and older adults in helping them thrive in all areas of life.
In addition to building a successful private Psychology practice since 1999, I have learned to be conscious, present, and authentic. Clients, friends, and family describe me as kind, patient, intelligent, uplifting, persistent and supportive. I am committed to my own joyful evolution on this amazing, ever-expanding life journey.
